Create Western Washington is a project funded by the City of Olympia and others in partnership with Enterprise for Equity with the purpose of helping our communities easily find and purchase from local creatives.
Creatives include independent artists, freelancers, crafters, makers, tattoo artists, writers, poets, musicians, actors, designers, food producers, beverage producers, restaurants, etc. and larger businesses that source half of their materials and products from within 100 miles.

U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reports that the arts and culture sector contributed $53.2 billion to WA's economy in 2019, representing 8.7% of the state's GDP, 185,741 jobs, and total compensation of $25.2 billion.

The focus of this platform is to feature businesses with 5 or fewer employees or those companies with more employees who source over 50% of their ingredients, suppliers or products from small businesses within ~100 miles of Olympia. Micro-enterprise development works because it reduces reliance on public assistance, creates jobs, and raises the income, job skills, and assets of low-income people.”
